MagicInfo Directions for Content Schedule Managers
MagicInfo is Roger Williams Universities Digital Signage management system. To create content for the signage you are managing follows the steps below.
Editing pre-existing playlists
This first list is assuming you already have a playlist and schedule made. To learn how to create brand new playlists and schedules, click here

Log into the MagicInfo Server/Site located here, http://magicinfo.academics.rwu:7001/MagicInfo/login.htm?cmd=INIT
- Click Content on the left-hand panel.
- Click New.
- Click Upload Content.
- Click Add Content.

Choose the image(s) that you would like to upload.

Note It is recommended that you upload jpegs for best results.
- Click Start Upload. Once the content is uploaded you can close the upload box.
- Click Playlist on left-hand panel.
- Find the playlist you’d like to edit by using the search bar in the upper right-hand side of the site, or by scrolling through the list of playlists.
- Click on the tiny box the is to the left of the playlist name.
- Click Edit.
- Drag the desired content from the left-hand side of the screen to the right.
- Click Save.
- Click Save again.
- Click Schedule on the left-hand side panel.
- Find the schedule you’d like to republish by using the search bar in the upper right-hand side of the site, or by scrolling through the list of schedules.
- Click on the tiny box the is to the left of the schedule name.
- Click Republish.
- In the Select Group box that opened, make sure your desired group is selected and click Save.
- The signage content will be uploaded to the signage TV after a few minutes.
Creating new playlists and schedules
This second list will show how to create a brand-new playlist and schedule.

Log into the MagicInfo Server/Site located here, http://magicinfo.academics.rwu:7001/MagicInfo/login.htm?cmd=INIT
- Click Content on the left-hand panel.
- Click New.
- Click Upload Content.
- Click Add Content.
- Choose the image(s) that you would like to upload. It is recommended that you upload jpegs for best results.
- Click Start Upload. Once the content is uploaded you can close the upload box.
- Click Playlist on left-hand panel.
- Click New Playlist.

On the new box that opened up, under Supported Devices, click on S3.

Note if you click on S1 or Lite some content might not be displayed on your signage.
- Keep the Playlist Type as General
- Click Create
- Drag the desired content from the left-hand side of the screen to the right.
- Click Save.
- Edit your Playlist Name
- Choose the Default group by clicking on the magnifying glass and selecting Default.
- Click Save.
- Click Schedule on the left-hand panel
- Click New Schedule.
- Click Content.
- On the new box that opened up, under Supported Devices, click on S3.
- Keep the Schedule Type as General.
- Click Create.
- Click anywhere on the schedule to open the editing box.
- In the Content field click on the magnifying glass.
- Click Playlist in the upper left side of the box.
- Locate the desired playlist you’d like to display.
- Click Select.
- In the Repeat field choose your desired option from the drop-down list.
- In the Playback Date and Playback Time fields, it is recommended to click the boxes next to Never Expire and 24 hours to ensure that the content is displayed continuously. You can edit these sections to refine the playback if you’d like.
- Click Save.
- Click Save again in the upper left of the schedule screen.
- Edit your Schedule Name.
- Click the magnifying glass next to Publish to and then select the group or device you want your content displayed on.
- Click Save.
- Add a description if you’d like.
- Click Save & Publish.
- The signage content will be uploaded to the signage TV after a few minutes.
