How to copy content from one course to another in Brightspace

Example 1: Copy Entire Course Content
Use this if you want to copy everything (modules, quizzes, assignments, etc.) from a previous course.
- Go to the new (empty) course shell where you want to copy the content.
- In the navbar, click on Course Admin.
- Select Import/Export/Copy Components.
- Choose Copy Components from Another Org Unit, then click Search for Offering.
- Click Search if you'd like a full listing of your courses, or search for the course you want to copy content from, select it, and click Add Selected.
- Click Copy All Components (or select individual items if needed).
- Wait for the process to complete — you’ll get a confirmation once it’s done.
Pro Tip: After copying, go into Course Content and update all due dates, start/end dates, and make sure everything is visible to students.

Example 2: Copy Specific Items (e.g., Only Assignments or Modules)
Use this if you only want to copy over certain parts.
- Navigate to the new course.
- Go to Course Admin > Import/Export/Copy Components.
- Choose Copy Components from Another Org Unit, then Search for Offering.
- Find the source course, select it, and click Add Selected.
- This time, choose Select Components instead of Copy All.
- Check only the components you want (e.g., Assignments, Content, Quizzes, etc.).
- Click Continue, then check the items you need, and click Finish.
Helpful Hint: If you're copying modules or quizzes, double-check linked files or gradebook connections after the copy to ensure everything works properly.
