SE 126 Classroom Guide Technology Set-up: PC, Air Media, Mounted TVs, and Projector with Qsys Camera Table of Contents Turn on the System Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Connecting Personal Laptops Using Zoom Need Tech Help? Turn on the System Use the Samsung remote or the power button below the TV monitor to turn on the TV. If you are planning to use the Classroom PC, make sure the PC underneath the counter in the rack is on. Use Touch panel to select input and send to the tvs/Projector Wireless Keyboard and Mouse For the Room PC system, you will have a wireless keyboard and mouse. They will appear in the Bluetooth devices as Targus devices. To make sure the keyboard and mouse are connected to Bluetooth, use the following steps: Keyboard: Click on the keyboard key above the number pad that has the Bluetooth symbol and a number 1. A blue light will appear above the number pad with the corresponding number. Mouse: left click on the mouse to "wake it up". To make sure it is connected with Bluetooth, flip the mouse over and make sure the light above the Bluetooth symbol and 1 is on. Connecting Personal Laptops For personal devices, plug in your device using the HDMI cable in the room. You may need an adapter to connect the cable if your laptop does not have an HDMI port. The cable and port are located on the wall under the TV. The port and cable may be under a table depending on room layout. To switch sources between Room PC and Laptop, use the Source button in the middle of the remote. To adjust the audio, you can use the audio options on your device as well as the volume buttons on the remote. Using Zoom When using Zoom on the Room PC, please follow the instructions below. Access Zoom either by clicking the desktop icon or via Bridges. Login using your RWU Microsoft Credentials. Once open, go to Audio Settings in the lower left and select Echo Cancelling Speakerphone. Turning The System ON and OFF Connecting a Device Using AirMedia Remote Learning Instructions - Qsys Need Help? Turning The System ON and OFF This room is controlled by a Crestron panel on the teacher's desk. There are sources for room PC, laptop, document camera, Blu Ray, and Air Media. Press the RWU splash page and any source to activate the projector. Connecting A Device Laptops are connected via the HDMI cable coming out of the cubby. The VGA cable can be used as a back up with USB-C adapter. To play a disc, use either the PC disc drive with VLC Media Player, or the Sony Blu Ray player. If using the document camera, make sure the power button is on and lit blue, in addition to selecting it as a source on the Crestron panel. Using AirMedia To use a wireless connection, select the Air Media source on the touch panel. An IP address will be visible in the upper left hand corner of the TV monitor ("10.103.__________"). Enter this number into the web address area of Chrome or Firefox on your device. This brings you to a page to download the Air Media software. Once the software is downloaded and opened, enter the 4-digit number at the upper right hand corner of the projection into the box that pops up on your device. This connects the device image/sound to the projector. Please turn off the system when you are finished. The exit button is in the top right of the Crestron panel. Remote Learning Instructions - QSys Step 3: Zoom On the room PC, Zoom can be accessed via the desktop icon or via Bridges. Please log in through the Single Sign On (SSO) when using the icon. It uses your Microsoft credentials. The room camera can be controlled from the Camera Controls button on the Crestron panel. You can pan and tilt the camera, as well as zoom in/out. The USB cable coming out of the cubby can be plugged into a laptop to connect the camera and mic to that device. In the zoom audio and video settings please make sure Echo Cancelling Speakerphone and Q-SYS Core 110f are selected. Need Help? Quick Guide For Rec Center Conference Room 237 Turn the TV on with the Samsung remote control or the on-board power button. AirMedia is connected to HDMI 1. To use AirMedia, make sure the TV is on this source. An IP address will be visible in the lower left hand corner of the TV monitor (“10.103.___.___”). Enter this number into the web address area of Chrome or Firefox on your device. This brings you to a page to download the Air Media software. Once the software is downloaded and opened, a 4- digit number will appear on the TV monitor. Enter this number into the box that pops up on your device. This connects the device image/sound to the monitors. There is also a PC located behind the TV. The PC is connected to HDMI 2. To use the PC, make sure the TV is on this source and the PC is powered on. You can then use the provided mouse and keyboard to navigate the PC. Using the TV's This room has 2 separate Samsung displays with a Lenovo computers located behind each TV. There are HDMI and VGA connections for laptops as well. Turn on the TV, and select Source… Point the remote to the lower-right corner of the TV, and press the Red Power button. Once the TV is on, press the (SOURCE) button. Use the arrows to select the source, and press the (ENTER) button. Sources Available on the TV DisplayPort PC - Dell Computer HDMI - HDMI connection for laptop PC - VGA connection for laptop. Note: The TVs in the room are labeled Computer 1 and 2. The keyboard, mouse, and remote are labeled to match. Using the Dell Computer The keyboard, mouse, and remote should be on the table below each TV. The computer is mounted on the wall, behind the TV. To boot the computer, press the power button on the front of the computer. Note: If the keyboard, mouse, and remote are not on the table below the TV, please check the drawer in the kitchenette. Connecting a Laptop In this room, there are VGA & HDMI cables. Adapters are available for check out at the Media Tech Desk, located by the main entrance of the University Library. Turning off Samsung TV Please shut off the TV, when you are done. The “POWER OFF” button is located on the upper-right corner of the remote. SE 115 Classroom Guide Technology Set-up: Mounted TV Table of Contents Turn System On and Off Using Room PC Connecting Personal Device Need Tech Help? Turn System On and Off The room is controlled with an Extron Panel on the wall beside the TV screen. The Room PC is located behind the TV. *Note: Please make sure to turn off the TV before leaving the room. To Turn On Press the ON button on the Control Panel. To change the source display, press the Source you would like to display through on the Panel. The available sources are: PC Room PC (Dell mini Computer) Laptop- Laptop Connection Cable- Cox Cable For the Cable TV, there will be a Cox Cable remote in the tray below the TV to control it. To Turn Off Press the OFF button on the Control Panel once you have finished using the room. Using Room PC * The Keyboard and Mouse for the Room PC should be left on the table. The Room PC is located behind the TV screen. To turn on the Room PC, press the Power Button located at the front, of the PC. Connecting Personal Device A VGA connection is available in the room. This allows you to connect your laptop to the TV. Adapters are available for the VGA cord. If there aren't any in the room for your device, you can check one out from the MediaTech Desk in the Main Campus Library. Need Tech Help? Quick Guide - SE 124 The Creston Control panel runs the system in this room. At the instructor's station, there are a desktop computer, Blu-Ray player, and VGA & HDMI connections. Table of Content To Power on Projection System Sources on Control Panel Connecting a Laptop PIC MUTE TURN OFF SYSTEM Questions? To Power on Projection System If the touch screen is Black, tap it to turn it on. Tap the bottom of the screen to enter the system. Select the Source to turn on the projector and lower the screen. Sources on Control Panel Laptop HDMI - HDMI connection VGA - VGA connection PC - Desktop PC BluRay - BluRay & DVD discs Connecting a Laptop In this room, there are VGA & HDMI cables. To select either connection, select the Laptop source first and then the connection. Adapters are available for checkout at the Media Tech Desk, located by the main entrance of the University Library. PIC MUTE If you need to mute the projection / blank the screen for a portion of the class, Image Mute is available. Press Image Mute on the touch panel. Press Image Mute On to bring back the projection. NOTE: This only mutes the projection. The projector is still on. TURN OFF SYSTEM Please shut off the projection at the end of class. To change the source display, press the Source button. Then, use the Send To button to send the display to the source. The available sources are: PC- Desktop PC Laptop HDMI -HDMI Connection Doc Cam - Document Camera BluRay - BluRay Discs AirMedia - Wireless Connection You will need to press the Send To button each time you change the source. To Turn Off *Note: Please make sure to turn off the system before leaving the room. Press the EXIT button on the control panel. When it asks if you are sure, select YES to power the system down. Connecting a Device Personal Laptop Laptops are connected via the HDMI cable coming out of the cubby. If you do not have a HDMI port on your device, you can get an adapter at the MediaTech Desk located at the entrance of the University Library. AirMedia Select the AirMedia source on the touch panel. An IP address will be visible in the upper left hand corner of the TV monitor (10.103....) Enter this number into the web address of Chrome or Firefox on your device. This will bring you to a page where you can download the AirMedia software. Once the software is downloaded and opened, enter the 4-digit number at the upper right hand corner of the projection into the box that pops up on your device. This connects the device image and sound to the projector. Document Camera Make sure the power button is on and lit blue, in addition to selecting it as a source on the Creston panel. Discs Use either the PC disc drive with VLC Media Player or the Sony BluRay Player. Using Zoom Connecting Open Zoom via the desktop application or through Bridges. Log in using your RWU Microsoft credentials. Select the appropriate meeting and, if prompted, select "join meeting with computer audio" and the camera will automatically connect.
